diet enemy #1and #2 weight loss: what to be aware of
What is the number one enemy of the dieter. Is it chocolate? Is it candy? Is it carbohydrates? Is it white bread. No, no, no! Not at all. Chocolate, candy, carbohydrates can all have their calorie content read off the package and calculated depending on how many grams of it you eat. In my opinion SALT is the enemy of the dieter. If you eat too much salt you can GAIN as much as 10 lb overnight. You will jump on the scale and overnight your weight can go through the roof and you will want to quit your diet. I had this problem because I was visiting my friends and eating their food on the weekend. Every Monday I would jump on my trusty digital scale and be upset because I had “gained’ 9 or 10 pounds over the weekend. I thought about it and figured that to gain 9 or 10 pounds I must have eaten 36000 to 40000 calories too much. Impossible because I didn’t eat that much food. I realized that it must be water retention due to salt. When I cook I use very little salt. However most of my friends use a LOT of salt. A lot of the food they gave me was processed food and manufacturers use a LOT of salt. Eating other people’s food or processed food really throws off my scales. If you eat out or at your friends house don’t be surprised if you gain unexplained weight. Keep your salt intake as consistent as possible, otherwise your bathroom scale will be all over the place and you will not be able to get consistent readings about your weight loss progress. good tip. thanks
Salt confuses scale readings and discourages.Know what is happening to your weight. If you eat a lot of cheese or potato chips(salty foods) expect your weight to appear higher the next day. Weigh yourself in the A.M.after peeing. The food you eat during the day and muscle activity make you retain water.Even if your salt intake is level you will weight about 3 pounds less in the morning. During the night your body clears the extra H2O.The extra water is part of your daily look and daytime weight.
you sound like a pest!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am trying to help people. How I sound is not important. What I have to say may help someone. Just maybe you are the pest by saying this kind of thing. Take the log out of your eye first and then you will see the splinter in the next person’s eye. However your comment may have some validity and I will give it consideration. More than 5000 people have viewed my primitive videos and you are the only one to leave a nasty comment.
as i said …. YOU SOUND LIKE A PEST!!!!!! I watched your vid and immediatly looked up the fbi most wanted to see if there were any sound clips to compare your voice to!!! i would say if 5000 have seen your boring crap then you are most probably under investigation with a voice like that!! il also place a prediction that you remove this comment because you will want to appear that you have a clean record and are “helping” when really you get off on the only way you can get attention is talk shit
I don’t remove negative comments. The other readers can judge for themselves who the real pest is. I am not looking for attention. Youtube is not that important to me. I had bedbugs and got rid of them and want to help people. What have I done wrong? I have a security guard license. The government doesn’t give the license to criminals.
ok martin luther!!!! slowly backing out of the room and quietly shuts the door!!!!!!!
Wow! Thanks for posting this video. My Scale went up 15 pounds – did not know what was causing it. I thought it was weight gain till now when I watched this video. I would like to get down to 160 pounds – but my scale keeps getting stuck in the 180′s. Again – thanks for the video. Now I know what causes it to do that.. Salt. P.S. 2 years ago, I used to weigh 356 pounds. Then I lost over 180 pounds in 2 years mostely from power walking 6 hours a day, 6 day’s a week and working out at the gym..
Thanks for the nice comment.
Dude, what the was that? That was the most unecessary bullshit I have ever heard. He’s just trying to help people and you’re trying to find an excuse to be a racist bastard, why don’t you crawl back into the hellhole you came from, huh?
Ok. Anything to get away from this kind of comments.
I like your vids..thx!
Thanks for the nice comment about my primitive videos.
wow jack! that does makes sense! i use to hate jumping to the scale because of water retention, now i have to be careful what i eat, do you by any chance have a menu you can share with us of what you are doing? i do work out tho just because i enjoy it, but i really need to know about the salt thing, thanks Jack!
I have no real menu I follow. The key to dieting is to eat whatever you want but be strict about the total calories for the day. Keep what you eat very simple.Example,if you have pasta be sure to keep it to a few ingredients. It is easier to figure out the calories if there are only a few ingredients to consider. I eat a lot of nuts, bananas, raisins, dates.
Diet time is basic food time.
The habit of eating simple foods trains you to not crave pizza, burger combos and Chinese buffets and the like.
About salt.Nothing wrong with salt. You need some in your diet. You just need to be sure that each time you weigh yourself your body is in a similar state as previous times. Don’t eat salty foods the day before your weigh-in. Also if you plan to weigh yourself the next day finish eating your food and water by 7 or 8 to be sure your body is stable by the next morning, or at least similar to the last time. Always weigh yourself at the same time and in the morning before eating or drinking anything.
If you don’t plan to weigh yourself salt is not an issue unless you are overdoing it.
sounds about right to me! thanks jack, i like your cute voice lol!!
Thanks.
