Its okay, but it reminds me of the T.V. brand Sony. Sorry not trying to be rude. But I think the name Sophia is very cute, and it kinda sounds like Sonia. Hope I helped

I like Nia, but since the nia part of the name isn’t really pronounced with that emphasis, it isn’t the most logical nickname. Really, Sonia is a short enough name that you don’t need a nickname.

Nia is cute. But I think that like someone else said, Sonia doesn’t really need a nickname.
When people are suggesting alternate names, please keep in mind that a name from a different culture that is somewhat similar is generally not compatible. Names are often chosen based on their language of origin and meaning, as well as sound and prettiness.
