Has anyone had any success using Neem or Clove powder for getting rid of your cat's tapeworms?
I don’t know exactly how much Neem or Clove powder to put in my kitten’s food to purge his tapeworms. At this point, I am just guessing, and I can’t find any information on the Internet to help me figure this out. I have a digital scale so I can weigh out the amount in milligrams or grams if I knew how much powder to add to his food.
I can see the worms in my kitten’s stool so I know he has worms. Sometimes they are moving around and sometimes they look like small grains of white rice and don’t move around. He previously had fleas so I believe they are tapeworms.
Does anyone have any personal knowledge they can share with me about Neem and/or Clove powder in regards to cat tapeworms? I need to know how much of these herbs to add to my kitten’s food.
Please provide references if possible.
I’m disappointed nobody is familiar with these herbs. You can plainly see they make up two of the ingredients in this parasite and worm tea.

Unicornrider and the rest of you who have posted here, there is all kinds of information on the Net about Neem powder and Clove powder being safe for cats. I just can’t find any information about the proper dosage. Here’s a good reference link to support these two herbs.

There is no way that a natural remedy like this can kill a parasite like tapeworm. Droncet tabs or an injection from the vet will get rid of them. The only way to keep tapeworm away is to keep the fleas off of the cat. Treat your cat with a vet approved product like Advantage for fleas an the Droncet. No over the counter flea meds will kill tapeworm.
If a natural remedy can’t kill a similar parasite in a human, why would it work on a cat.
Yeah no i really don’t think that is going to work at all. Take your kitten to a low-cost vaccine clinic that are held at petstores on weekends and get a wormer administered. Or you can go to the petstore and buy tapewormer tabs.
I’ve heard that both those things can harm a cat’s liver. I’d avoid them if I were you. The amount required to get rid of the parasites might cause other problems. I’m all for natural remedies and avoiding the vet, but I’ve never had a pet with parasites before. They don’t have fleas, and are not exposed to other animals or loose outdoors.
The best advice I can give is to contact the manufacturer of the powder you have, and ask them the proper dose for a kitten.
If your cat has tapeworms, I highly recommend using a dewormer from your vet. they are proven to work. If your cat is a kitten, you’ll want to get rid of the worms sooner than later. It may also be a good idea to have a fecal sample checked by your vet to make sure that there are no other parasites in the stool. It is very common for puppies and kittens to have parasites. Tape worms are spread by fleas as well. depending on the age of your kitten, start on advantage as soon as possible. Kittens can go down hill fast from the smallest ailments (trust me, I’ve lost one once not getting him to the vets in time) and its heartbreaking. Use the proven drugs and don’t tip toe around the matter to save a few dollars. They’ve been tested and are completely safe
It won’t work.Either take the cat to the vet and get a doncrit vaccine or pill or go to the pet store and get (FOR CATS) Drontal wormer (it’s the same as the vet prescribes). One dose will get rid of the worms, however, if your cat has fleas, that is where the tapeworms are coming from and you will also need to get some Advantage or Frontline drops, follow the directions exactly for both medications. THis should end both problems.
Even tho as a harbalist of twenty odd years, I know this works with humans (have used it a few times)….I have to caution against it with animals. There are safer alternatives for animals, they react differently to herbs than we do, they show different side effects – rather use a preparation from the vet.
