Do Not Worry! It is not good for the baby! Listen, I just had my second set of twins and I didn’t really have morning sickness at all, but I lost weight like crazy! In the end I think I lost like 47 lbs. I was really worried, but my doctor didn’t seem to be concerned at all. When the babies were born, they were both right around 6 lbs. I am not telling you not to mention your concerns to your doctor. You should tell your dr. everything that’s going on, but he can determine if your baby is growing just by doing an ultrasound.
I know it seems impossible, but it’s like this. If your baby does not get the nutrition it needs from the food you eat, it will take it right out of your body (i.e. calcium).
Tell your dr. about your concerns and let him keep a check on you and your baby. If he is not concerned, there is no need for you to worry. It’s not good for your baby! Good luck honey and don’t let these a!!holes get you down about being a 17 year old mother to be. Congratulations and best of luck to you and your little one!

You are a little on the small side, but you are only 9 weeks pregnant. Lots of women lose weight during their 1st trimester. I’d go to the doctor anyway just to get a professional opinion.

    Good Luck!

I lose 10-15 pounds every time in my first trimester if I’m mildly sick or very sick doesn’t seem to matter. Just try to get your vitamins in and you’ll be fine. You’ll gain it back soon! :o ) I’ve always gained it back and then an additional 5-10 pounds. So I don’t count from my prepregnancy weight then for weight gain, but from my lowest pregnacy weight. Your baby is not packing on pounds right now, but trying to develop, so jsut make sure you’re getting the folic acid, etc. that he/she needs for development. Good luck!

I lost 5lbs with this pregnancy, and my cousin (who just had her baby) lost 22lbs in the first trimester because of morning sickness.
Try sipping water all day, eating a bland diet or whatever will sound good. It was weird, when I had morning sickness, for whatever reason everything made me puke except McDonald’s cheeseburgers *GAG*. But it worked, LOL. I also kept crackers and Melba Toast, along with some water, beside the bed. The FIRST thing I’d do in the morning, before I even sat up all the way, was nibble on some toast and drink some water (use a straw.) Also, if the prenatals make you sick, ask your doc if it’s ok to take children’s chewable vitamins. My cousin used 2 Flintstones vitamins because that was all she could stomach. BUT you should ASK a doctor before you do that!
Another thing, don’t trust the scale at the grocery store. It could be off–way off–so I’d rely on a scale you’re able to use on a regular basis, like your own scale. Also, weigh yourself at the same time every day.

Of course make your appointment ASAP, youll need your vitamins, you are loosing because you are not eating well and your baby is eating what you have store in your body, baby should be fine, but needs vitamins to start growing healthy, hopefully soon youll start eating better and everything will be ok. It is very important to go to your OB and start your vitamins.

    First off honey, calm down.
You are stressing yourself out and it’s stressing the baby out.
It’s not good for the baby to panic.
Don’t weigh yourself so often, it just adds to the stress.
Not everyone gets morning sickness and it’s perfectly normal to have days of total chaos and days of absolute bliss when it comes to morning sickness.
The weight loss is probably just a result of the stress and anxiety you’ve brought on yourself.
Take a nice deep breathe, hold, and exhale slowly. Clear your mind and picture your baby happy and healthy.
Relax and put your mind at ease.
    Stress is bad, relax.
everything is going to be alright.
    Think happy thoughts
    and just breathe

If you have been vommeting a lot, then weight loss should be expected. So long as you start gaining weight again at the end of the first trimester. You should go to see a Dr soon to be sure that everything is developing properly. I know that you will not hear this often because of your age, but congratulations and good luck.

Honestly, just to be on the safe side, go to the doctor because every body’s body is not the same. Because you are young you are at a higher risk for complications.

hi there, it is perfectly normal to lose weight in your first trimester (up to 13 weeks). that is because women tend to have aversions to certain foods and of course, morning sickness. but wait until you hit your second trimester (14 weeks onward) and you’ll LOVE eating.
I am 19 weeks now and in my first trimester, I threw up every day, twice a day. I couldn’t stand the smell of food and I just ate breads and light soups. I lost about 5 lbs but my doctor said it was normal.
Now, I’ve gained 14 lbs and my doctor is concerned! You are only supposed to gain between 17-25 lbs during your pregnancy in total. But, I’ve recovered from nausea and am able to enjoy eating again.
Don’t worry, this is just a stage in your pregnancy. Losing weight is normal and you should be back on track in a few weeks.
Also, make sure you stay away from oily, greasy foods such as hamburgers, french fries, and pizza. They don’t settle well in the stomach.
Instead, try eating rice, pastas, cheese, and vegetables. The healthier you eat, the healthier you will feel.
Take care and best of luck :)

At first (in the first 3 months) it’s normal to lose a little weight. After it can be a problem. I was the same way. I caught up though.. I weight what I need to at this point. After the first trimester morning sickness should subside alot.

Don’t worry, your fine. Sometimes you weigh differently at different times of the day, and even on different scales. My scales weigh me 4 pounds lighter than my docs scales do. And some women lose weight for a while when they are pregnant from sickness, my second pregnancy I lost over 10 pounds from puking but I gained it all back and much more and delivered a 2 week early 9 lb healthy baby boy!! Try sipping on ginger ale or 7 -up and eating a high protein diet, that helped me get over morning sickness. Good luck hun!

You wouldnt want any thing bad to happen to your child! God bless you and i hope u get through all of this. But most importantly you should take vitaimins and drink alot of milk… i hear it helps ALOT! Dont worry too much that can harm the baby and dont do too much moving! morning sickness is quite normal…and just remember just cause you feel that way the baby doesn’t…
eat small meals all day long…during the night get up at have a snack like cereal…the empty stomach makes it worse…
this should pass…but sometimes it doesn’t…you and baby are fine…
make sure that whatever you eat is really healthy…stay away from junk foods and fats…they tend to make you especially sick…they make the stomach feel heavy…
lots of fruits and veggies and real juices…take a protein drink from health food place that has organic veggies…oh and do the organic way so the baby doesn’t have to deal with all those chemicals..
also later for baby dont let doc give the three in one shot…insist that they be given separately…the chemicals can be harmful…
you are fine just love how things are going to be for you now…you can eat and spoil yourself…and good for you for keeping your baby…lots of ninny types would just want to "get rid of `it’!!! yuck to them…you go girl…my prayers are with you…

I lost 17 pounds in my first trimester because i was so sick to my stomach. My doctor was a little concerned, but when he did an ultrasound the baby was growing normally, so he told me to stay hydrated (ginger ale worked wonders), and eat little healthy snacks as often as I could manage. Eating like that really did help. My stomach just couldn’t handle a meal at that point.

Then like magic at the 20 week mark all my morning sickness went away and I started eating like a horse!! Good thing I lost those 17 pounds because I gained 25 in 3 months!!!!! I gained 35 all together and gave birth to a beautiful, healthy 9 pound 4 ounce boy. Good luck, and get yourself to a doctor really soon!!

When I was pregnant with my little one, I lost 20 lb in my first and second Teri, and I didn’t have sickness at all. My body just naturally lost it (I am not a skinny ninny or extremely overweight. Just above average). By the time my baby was born, I had only gained 19 lb from my starting weight, and all of that was fluid retention. You are doing fine. As long as you try to keep something down, take your vitamins, drink plenty of fluids, you will be gaining weight soon (sorry). Just make sure you go in for your check-up soon and follow dr. orders. Soon, you will be an old pro at the pregnancy thing, then before you know it, all heck will break loose and you will have a new bundle in your arms to love. Good luck.
