You’ll be fine don’t be so hard on yourself or it will be harder to stay on the diet. try asking your parents to going Weight Watchers, they can give you the tools you need for a healthy lifestyle
I just left the weight loss industry, I was a personal weight loss consultant here in Canada, so YES I know what I am talking about, please take my advice and by george, email me or reply or something if you need more guidance. First off, you have not given a frame size, which drastically will change what you should eat! Here’s a general idea though:
17 or under female
- 2 Protein servings a day
- 2 Starches a day ( 1/2 cup cereal like special k, 1 slice brown bread, 1 sm. potato, 3 cups smartpop popcorn)
- 3 Fruits a day (ps. a banana counts as 2 fruits)
- 4 Veggies a day (a serving is 1cup for green leafy low-cal veggies and 1/2 cup for others)
- 2 Dairy servings a day (1 cup milk, 2 fat-free cheese slices, 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 6 oz yogurt cup… all equal 1 serving)
- 2 Fat servings (margarine, mayo, olive oil, etc. all 1 tsp=1 serving and YES have them or your hair, skin and nails will suck)
- 1 snack item (keep it pretty low-cal, low fat or fat-free, and small in serving size)
Also, avoid salt, ketchup, mustard, miracle whip, and yes, peanut butter though almond butter (1 tsp.) can be used as a fat serving. Drink 8 cups of water a day.
Seriously, if you want to lose the weight and keep it off, this will work. Nothing else but being sensible wil ever work properly long term. If you are over 17 subtract 1 fruit, 1 veggie, and one dairy from the list.
you have to eat right and workout and dont eat anything after 8
I say watch what you eat and exercise. You have several months to lose this weight so you should be able to meet your goal of losing 40 lbs.
This is a good start. You should be less concerned about simply losing weight and be more concerned about being healthy.
Ofcourse if you eat well and exercise you will achieve both, so I have to commend you on your start.
- It is a good idea cutting on the junk food, but don’t give it up completely because when you have it again, your body’s metabolism will react unfavourably to it. So, I would reccomend cutting down, but not completely stopping.
- Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, since it has the biggest gap between meals. I would reccomend eating a healthy and hearty breakfast.
- Drinking water is a good idea.
- Don’t be too concerned about eating energy bars and shakes, as those are used mainly by athletes to increase muscle size. Those bars are pricey on the budget, and right now your main concern is to become healthy and fit and protein bars are not required at this stage.
- You should not cut down on your eating, but on what you eat. It is a good idea to eat vegetables, but don’t restrict your hunger.
- The best thing to do is exercise before a meal rather than after it. You usually puke if you want to do strenous exercise after a meal, I would reccommend doing it before a meal.
- Your exercise workout looks good, but you should run and then do the jumping jacks, then the straight and jump rope. After that should you proceed to do the crunches and pushups. I would reccomend all the exercises at once, in the morning. Wake up early to do them and afterwards have a healthy breakfast. This way you will make your body stronger and you will be more alert in school.
- For your crunches, I would reccomend reducing the frequency and then increasing it as your body becomes more resistant to pain (the good exercise pain).
- Don’t overstrain your body, by doing it 6 times a week. Do it for 2 days and then a rest day and then another 2 days and then a rest in between.
On a final note, I hope my advice was helpful and I wish you the best of luck. Eat healthy and exercise, is the only way to losing weight and leading a healthy lifestyle.
I was in a somewhat similar situation about ten years ago, I had to loose 30 pounds, and I did it all in one summer, then another 30 by the end of the year.
First thing, don’t fall into these fad diets and mirical stuff, it may or may not work and is generally a waste of money.
Here’s what I did. I was living a pretty inactive lifestyle, so I started exercising, I started doing push ups, starting at 20 and working my way up to 50 a day moving up at intervals of five or so a week. I did the same with sit ups. I also started running. I recommend running on one big loop, not a track; on a track it’s too easy to quit after so many laps, on one big loop, you’re pretty determined to finish the loop. Start off somewhere around a mile and then start adding more and more blocks to your run; go for distance, not time. This will help to melt the pounds off.
As for dieting, eat your normal diet, but here’s the catch, when you get to the point where you say to yourself "I COULD eat one more piece of pizza…" don’t. If when you’re grilling you usually eat two burgers or brots, drop down to one. Oh and avoid fast food, and I mena everything fast food. If you get a French fry craving or something like that, go to an actual sit down restraunt, or bar and grill (Applebees, Chili’s etc.).
Self control is the big thing, which is something that is difficult for people. However this sould be able to help you out, the only thing you have to pay for is a good pair of running shoes.
