Carry cloth diapers too! I know a ton of moms who have a hard time finding them locally.

I hate to discourage you but I see this as a huge uphill battle. A lot of companies in those businesses have huge resources to make this profitable. I just don’t see this as something you can do out of your garage or even a local 5000 sq/ft storefront. If you do pursue it you’ll want to create a buzz about your products and carve out your own niche-probably the only realistic chance you’d have at success. If I’m wrong, do it and be a success…and believe it or not I really would be happy for you (I’m pro-small business).

As long as you have good advertising you should do well.

Like another person said, you might have a difficult time with this business. My impression is that most feminine hygiene products and baby diapers are purchased at the store, sometimes as an emergency. Since I’m assuming that your business will be online, that might be difficult unless you have some kind of marketing hook or extremely reasonable prices. Adult diapers, however, might be a better fit for you to sell. Even then, you face other similarly small retailers who sell the same product. If you decide to market adult diapers, one thing I’d advise you to do is be "ab/dl friendly". If you don’t know, that stands for "adult baby/diaper lover". These are behaviors in which adults like to wear diapers for pleasure (I myself am a diaper lover). Most adult diaper retailers/manufacturers are not ab/dl friendly. That is, they don’t realize that a huge share of their business comes from people with a fetish, and thus don’t market to them. Only a couple online retailers of which I’m aware realize this and put their ads on ab/dl websites. If you do get an adult diaper business going, you’ll want to make sure to get ad space on The Daily Diaper, for one, and some other sites as well.
