My baby hit his head?

My baby hit his head at the doctors office. He was sitting up on the baby scale and flew his self back and hit the back of his head on the side of scale. I caught him right before he hit but his head still taped it. He cried a little for a few seconds until I held him close to me. I told the doctor he said not to worry but he isn’t showing any signs of injury but I’m worried there might be. He is 6 months. How can I insure myself he is okay?

He is completely fine. Just wait until he’s 9 months and starts pulling up on things. He is literally going to be smacking his head on something daily. My son will pull up on the coffee table and fall over all the time, usually hitting his head on the bottom part. He cries for a minute or two and then he’s over it. Sometimes he’ll get a little bump, sometimes not.

It takes WAY more than a "tap" or even a bump on the head to seriously injure a baby. My sister’s baby fell from one of those changing tables in a McDonald’s bathroom several feet onto hard tile floor and landed on her head. She obviously took her to the ER after that, but she was perfectly fine.

Seriously, you are being exceedingly paranoid – especially since a doctor was standing right next to you when it happened and told you he was fine! Your baby is perfectly fine :)

The doctor said he was fine. What more do you need.

You must be a 1st time mother, and young to be worried still over that incident. It happening in the doctor’s office was the best place for it to happen. Your baby is okay…..seriously don’t trip out.

You’ll always be worried about that. Good thing it was at the Dr’s office and he was checked out. To give yourself a piece of mind, just watch him. You’ll notice he’s fine. It gets easier the more he bumps his head. Trust me!

He’s fine. Once he starts crawling and pulling up and walking he’s going to hit/bump his head a LOT. You’re going to need to relax about it, or you’ll do him far more harm from hovering over him than would be caused by the ocassional bruise.
