On a scale of 1-10, where would you rate Baby Ayr saline drops?

My daughter is congested and I wanted to know whether I should buy the Baby Ayr or just use the aspirator
T.I.A.
she’s 5 months old, if that helps

    lol

I just tried saline drops in my L.O’s nose. She’s 8 months, and didn’t go over well. I ended up getting more on her face than in her nose. All of saline drops I would assume, are the same. Just different prices. I tried the Triamenic type.

The pharmasist told me to put them in her nose, while she’s eating (BF or Bottle feeding) that way the babe has no choice but to push the boogies out of her nose!

Good luck trying to get your baby to co-operate! If you do, be prepared with lots of wipes/kleenexes because she’ll have a major nose blow out :)

I use the Baby Ayr drops to loosen the mucous and then I use the aspirator- per our hospital discharge instructions.

I would give them a 6.5. The Baby Ayr drops are great because yes just saline and can be used as frequently as needed. The drops do help thin mucous so you can more effectively suction out mucous using the nasal aspirator. But they’re not a miracle solution by any means because they provide very temporary relief (which is beneficial for feeding times).

Just a warning — I don’t think most babies are very happy with having the drops put in or having to lay on their backs for a few minutes afterward. My son screams! But they help. I find they work well inconjunction with a nice steam bath.

    10,10,10!
I love them, can’t say enough about them. I have used them on my son since he was a month old. He was born in Jan. and at the time we had gas heat which dried all our noses out. I would at that time prop my knees up and set him there. Put the drops in, wait a few min’s and then suck them out w/ the aspirator.

He is know two yrs. old and I still use them regularly since he can’t blow his nose yet. Everybody we know gets a kick out of it, becuase if he has a booger he will ask me to use the "booger water & booger sucker". I know it sounds nasty, but it’s cute in its own little way!

Anyways to awnser your question, I love them, couldn’t live without them. I give them a big fat 10!

    Good luck!
