What do you think of the baby girl name Tabetha?

It’s pronounced like Tabitha, but I prefer this spelling. What do you think of Beth as a nickname for it? What would you rate it on a scale of 1-10 (1=hate,10=love). Comment too please as too why you do or don’t like it. Thanks! :o )

I love the name Tabitha. I have never seen it spelled Tabetha, but it is not horrible-especially since you intend to use Beth as a nickname. However, you could still spell it Tabitha and call her Beth. My oldest daughter is Miranda, and we call her Mandy-a lot of nicknames deviate slightly from the given name. I definitely like Beth more than Tabby.

I would rate it an 8, mainly because of the untraditional spelling.

honestly…id give it a 3/4. it sounds like an old lady name or a name for a cat not a little baby girl.

It sounds a bit…oldish. Like a Grandma or something.

it is quirky, interesting and old fashioned.
can you imagine a human called tabetha at all ages?
    baby tabetha
    tabetha the little girl
tabetha the teenager (beth most probably here!)
    tabetha the adult
    aunty tabetha
    grandma tabetha

i think it is very feminine

however it may become unfashionable quickly.

I think it’s cute. I’d give it an 8 out of 10. It’s really pretty and unique. I think the spelling makes it super original as well. I like the nickname Beth, it’s really sweet. I also think Tabby is cute for a nickname. Good choice.

    5. For some reason it kind of reminds me of the name of a cat or something… But if your daughter comes out really cute, the name will be cute.

Sorry, I don’t like it spelled that way and with Beth as a nickname. I give it a 2. I however do love it spelled Tabitha with Tabby as a nickname.

    10. Its a very nice name with a good sound to it.

I like Tabitha and would rate it a 7, but I guess I am opposite of you in that I don’t care for the "Tabetha" spelling.

Beth as a nickname I would rate a 2. Too boring, old-school and not cute. (just my opinion) It is your opinion that counts though. :-)

    Best of luck!

i prefer the spelling tabitha and tabi for the nickname, however the spelling you chose is unique because most tabithas i know have an i in them or an a spelled tabatha. ive never seen a tabetha with an e in it. im not to fond of the name beth either, i like elizabeth but not beth by itself.

My ex-sister-in-law’s name was spelled Tabitha but was pronounce TA-beth-a. I thought it was a very pretty pronunciation and actually prefer it considerably to the traditional pronunciation of TAB-i-thah. I think if you want to spell your daughter’s name Tabetha and use Beth as a nickname that pronouncing it TA-beth-a would rank a 10 with me. If you pronounced it the traditional way I’d only give it a 4.

id give it a 3. honestly tabetha is just an ancient name for a senior citizien. not a newborn baby. try Audrey Kathleen :)

    5. it sounds kindof bland, but its still sorta cute.and if ur gonna name ur kid that i like your spelling much better.

10! I love the name. It’s slightly magical, if that makes sense lol. Like it sounds like it could be the name of a witch or something, but in a good way. The spelling Tabetha is also gorgeous. Normally I don’t really like unconventional spellings, but I love this one. It’s still elegant and not too over-the-top at all. Beth as a nickname would be super cute, though I’ve also always liked Tabby and Tibby.

I went to school with a girl named Tabitha in elementary school and she was really gross and when I hear that name I cringe! I can’t help it! For that reason I give it a 1.2. Beth I’m not too keen on so I give it a 3.!

  27. xxAnniePotterxx on September 12th, 2010 | 8:07 am

10 i think it’s adorable, tabby like a little cat lol love it!

  28. kody on September 12th, 2010 | 8:07 am

I don’t know about it. All the people named Tabitha that I have met just aren’t that great.

its kind of an old lady name.
    or a loner name.
