What kitchen gadget do you lust for?

I want one of those digital scales like Alton Brown has…. put any container on it, zero it out, and proceed to accurately weigh *anything*.

My birthday is just around the corner…
Nancy :-)
I heart my Kitchen Aid mixer.

Sea Monkey, I’ve have had a West Bend one for ~ well, over 20 years! Probably 3 cups (?) Exactly between those little one-cup ones and a full size Cuisinart. It’s a little banged up, but has put in good use. Everything from almonds to pickles. Makes killer salsa. 4 ingredients: first seeded jalapeno, then white onion, then tomatoes, then salt. Proportions to suit yourself.

I think Alton Brown is so funny, Tara. Have noticed that *not once* have I watched his half-hour show without *laughing out loud* at least once. Smart and funny. Seriously, I’ve watched every Good Eats. I tivo it :-D
LOL Sugar and Nodumgys!!!!!

Sookie ~ I hear that a garden variety George Foreman grill works great for panini sandwiches… just in case you’ve got one of those lying about.

A Viking, Glen? A Viking range?? Or someone who comes from Scandinavia…

I would like one of those panini makers, but I’m afraid to get one. I would eat a sandwich at every meal if I did.

Oh, or one of those quesadilla makers too. That would be a big no-no as well.

Edit: I think I do, actually. Uh oh…

I make lots of noodles and pasta, and I really want one of those rolling pins with a marble barrel. I’ve been wanting one for years, but I can’t find any place that sells them.

I want three things – one of those Keurig one cup coffeemakers (the big one) and I also want a Kitchen-Aid stand up mixer so I can get more into baking, and a new, sharp knife set (I can’t tell you how hard it is to cook without a decent chef’s knife)

just a small chopper – no more than 2 cups. that would make so many things we do easier.

    I have one of those!
My mom always told me that me and one other person in the world likes Alton Brown.
I think I just found that other person!
But I think that I would like to own a dishwasher. It would make life a lot easier.
