“Wonderful” by Cathy Elliott
Click “more info” for lyrics! This is a song I wrote while I was doing an hour and a half commute to my day job. Literally. In the car. I never got a chance to put it down. Then the recession happened. I got my time, because the work dried up. I put it down on Garage Band and taped a digital camera to my car and did one of my now too few drives into the city. There’s a happy ending to this story. I have an apartment in the city now, and a new job and I’m hopeful that a new beginning has just begun. Remember, we can all help… buy something…give someone a job, even a small one. It will help. Give something to your local food bank. Send this video to anyone you know who is in financial trouble. Learn it. Sing it in your car on the way to your next job interview. And best of luck to every one of you. Thanks for visiting! Well done. Very theatrical, I can imagine this being performed on stage to rave reviews – the signature song of a play where it appears early on full of hope and trepidation and then again after things have been fulfilled to close the show down.
The backing vocals and the ebb and flow of the lead enhances this quality.
